What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Geoscientist I position at EOG Resources?
EOG's Midland division is seeking a long term contractor for our Midland exploration team
The ideal candidate will assist in providing engineering and geological guidance and well bore steering for horizontal wells. This position will require working with geologists, mud loggers, reservoir engineers, and drilling engineers to ensure the correct well bore path is obtained. This function covers the disciplines of geology and engineering where knowledge of both the geology of various formations and the operational functions of directional drilling and proposed completion practices coexist. The candidate will be called upon to provide analysis for project decision-making based on sound technical review.
Requirements:
- Bachelor or Masters degree in Engineering, Geology, or Geophysics,
- 1 years engineering/geological experience in an oilfield-related position is preferred but not required
- Experience or knowledge in planning of wells, drilling rig operations, geo-steering techniques, and mud logging practices are considered a plus.
- Willingness to learn
- Good communication
