We are seeking an experienced Ground System Engineer - Antenna RF Integration to join our team. This role involves operations, engineering, and support for EOI and customer ground antenna RF integration. The Antenna RF Integration Engineer will collaborate with a multidiscipline team to ensure that the ground stations operate at a high level of performance and availability.
The position guides and coordinates vendors and integrators to the successful completion of ground antenna RF system build/maintenance to ensure stable satellite operation.
The position ensures all technical requirements, parameters, and physical, functional, and program interface compatibility.

Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate system requirements by collaborating with vendor and EOI team
- Develop and maintain antenna portion of the space to ground ICD by collaborating with space RF team
- Perform communications analyses including link budget assessments collaborating with vendor and EOI team
- Determine hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design by collaborating with vendor and EOI team
- Ensure operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools are in place by collaborating with vendor and software development team
- Support the design, build, install of antenna RF systems with antenna provider to support beam pattern test, dynamic beam pointing test, and link verification by coordinating with space RF team and antenna provider
- Ensure integration of satellite ground software on each ground site by working with the Software Development Engineering team
- Develop, maintain, and perform all requirement verification tasks by coordinating with space RF team and antenna provider
- Define test plans and procedures through the development of antenna RF system to certification of real operation by coordinating with space RF team and antenna provider
- Ensure required test coverage to verify requirements and validate models by coordinating with space RF team and antenna provider
- Implement, validate, and optimize configurations for antenna performance by coordinating with space RF team and antenna provider
- Develop required post-processing to analyze test results by working with the Software Development Engineering team
- Document and interpret test results, troubleshoot issues, performing root-cause analysis for any test failures by coordinating with EOI team and antenna provider
- Communicate status and issues effectively with developers and managers
- Meet with vendors to select enabling radio and network configuration
- Support integration of antennas and customer terminals into the rest of the Kuiper systems through test campaigns throughout the development lifecycle, from concept to implementation to integration
- Bachelor’sdegree in Engineering, Physics, or equivalent combination of technical education and related work experience.
- 5 years of experience designing, developing, testing, and operating ground/satellite RF systems for commercial or USG
- 5 years of direct experience working on a ground component (e.g. Command and Control, Antenna network, Image data backhaul and distribution, Satellite planning and scheduling)
- LEO satellite operation experience
- Understanding of RF satellite communications systems parameters and their impact on RF link performance
- RF wireless communications systems requirements definition and analysis, including link analysis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Linux, Python, or equivalent programming language and understanding, data analysis, and statistics is a plus
- The anticipated compensation for this position is $125,000-$160,000/yr, depending on previous experience
