Core Hours: 9 AM - 1 PM PST / 12 - 4 PM EST

Role Summary:

As part of our growing engineering team, the Lead Backend Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance backend systems using C# and Python on AWS.

This role requires a strong technical leader who can drive backend architecture decisions, optimize system performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, cloud-native solutions.

What You'll Do:

Technical Leadership:

• Lead the design and architecture of scalable backend services using C# and Python
• Establish best practices for backend development, including security, performance, and maintainability
• Mentor and guide a team of server engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative engineering culture
  
  

Backend Development & Implementation

• Develop and maintain microservices, APIs, and data processing pipelines
• Implement server-side logic, business rules, and data management strategies
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and reliability
  
  

Cloud & Infrastructure Management

• Design and manage cloud-native solutions on AWS, leveraging services like Lambda, EC2, S3, DynamoDB, and RDS.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies to ensure system reliability and uptime.
• Collaborate with DevOps to establish CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment processes
  
  

Collaboration & Innovation

• Work closely with frontend, product, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration of backend services.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance system performance and development efficiency.
• Drive the adoption of best practices in cloud architecture and backend engineering
  
  

You’ll Be Successful in This Role if You Have:

• 8 years of experience in backend development with expertise in C# and Python
• Strong experience building cloud-native applications on AWS
• Proficiency with RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and microservices architecture
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, etc.)
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with security best practices for cloud applications
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment
• Experience leading technical teams and mentoring junior engineers
