Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Peer-to-Peer Specialist to provide support, mentorship, and advocacy for individuals navigating [mental health/substance use/housing/employment/etc.]. As someone with lived experience, you will foster trust and empowerment, offering guidance based on shared experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one peer support to individuals, helping them navigate challenges and access resources.
- Share personal experiences in a way that promotes hope and resilience.
- Assist clients in setting goals and developing action plans.
- Maintain records and document interactions in accordance with organizational policies.
- Collaborate with case managers, clinicians, and other support professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Lived experience in [mental health recovery, substance use recovery, homelessness, etc.].
- Certification as a Peer Specialist (or willingness to obtain if required by state/organization).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build trusting relationships and maintain confidentiality.
- Familiarity with local resources and support networks.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
