Project Manager/Environmental Scientist
Emmons & Olivier Resources, Inc. (EOR) is seeking a Project Manager/Environmental Scientist to join our growing Ecology Team in our Madison, WI office. EOR is an engineering and environmental consulting firm that specializes in: WATER (watersheds water resources), ECOLOGY (ecosystems natural resources) and COMMUNITY (civil engineering, landscape architecture planning). Brief Description:
Our Project Manager/Environmental Scientist will step into supporting a growing team of environmental scientists by managing projects through the environmental due diligence and permitting stages of development. Our ideal candidate has the ability to both develop and maintain relationships with new clients while engaging with new potential clients within the renewable energy, ecology, and utility sphere. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with EOR technical leads to deliver timely, accurate, and cost-effective work products, manage budgets, and create scopes of work
- Direct and manage subconsultants including contracting and QAQC of deliverables
- Be an involved team member on a wide variety of projects with a strong renewable energy focus
- Support business development and operations within EOR’s Ecological Workgroup
Education/Experience requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, natural resources, another physical/biological science field, or similar
- 3 years of Project Management experience with a focus on client management, proposal development and budgeting
- Must possess a valid driver’s license to conduct field work
- Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with colleagues and clients, strong oral and written communication skills
Education/Experiences preferred:
- Experience conducting field work, including ecological field studies, habitat assessment, and wetland delineations
- 1 year of business development, ideally with a renewable energy focus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) and HubSpot CRM
- Experience working with environmental, regulatory, and land use agencies, such as: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Public Utility Commissions state departments (such as Departments of Natural Resources), and State Historic Preservation Offices
- Detail-oriented and efficient in problem-solving
