Position Overview
Reporting to the Culinary Management Team, the Steward/Dishwasher always ensures a clean and workable kitchen area by scraping food from dirty dishes, pots, pans, plates, glasses, flatware, service ware and miscellaneous items and washing them by hand and/or the dishwashing machine. Wash, sanitize, and store all dishes, flatware, silverware, glassware, pots, pans, utensils, and cutting boards for food service; clean and maintain all equipment and dish machine; take all trash to designated area; clean all trash receptacles and replace trash bags; sweep and mop areas designated by managing Chefs; and complete other special cleaning projects as assigned.
This is a Part Time position- Mornings 7:00am- 11:00am

This position requires exemplary organizational and multi-tasking abilities. Attention to detail is necessary to clean and maintain equipment and work areas according to in-house, local, state and federal regulations for safety and sanitation. A restaurant steward must have mechanical skills to operate electric machines such as dishwashers and sanitizers.
Wage Rate: $20.21 per hour

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
- Perform all duties assigned by managing Chefs in a timely and professional manner.
- Alert managing Chefs of any breakage and/or missing equipment.
- Immediately report any unsafe and/or unacceptable occurrences to managing Chefs.
- Check the dish machine daily/nightly and report any concerns to managing Chefs.
- Have workstation ready for service before service time, all chemicals, gloves, tools, and protective wear stocked.
- Wiping up water spills, food stains and dirt from tables.
- Handling cleaning of the dining area at the close of day.
- Comply with and enforce all safety and health department procedures as well as Hotel Zoe and/or departmental policies/procedures, including all state and federal laws.

- Occasional ascending or descending stairs and ramps.
- Must be able to work under variable temperature conditions (or extreme heat or cold), variable noise levels, and around chemicals.
- High school graduate or equivalent education preferred.
- High-end restaurant experience in hotels a plus.
