We have an immediate opening for a highly motivated, collaborative and committed individual to fill our Network Engineer Tier III position within our Global Network team
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Network Engineer supporting a large-scale Data Center (DC) network Migration for a financial services client. The successful candidate will be part of a larger team and be responsible for performing discovery, analysis and execution of allocated work packages to support the overall DC migration project.
The candidate must have a strong technical background, be innovative and agile, collaborate well in a team environment, and have very strong written and verbal communication skills – a visionary who challenges the status quo and believes that technologies can level-up productivity.
This is a hybrid role and requires occasional travel domestically and internationally to client sites.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Be responsible for their allocated work packages which will consist of:
- Understanding the Clients existing and future state DC architecture
- Performing deep dive analysis of the estate from a network perspective to build Migration Implementation Plans (MIP) to migrate applications/Servers/Services from the legacy Cisco technologies based DC to the new Arista technologies based DC
- Representing each work package MIP to the Change Approval Board (CAB)
- Execution of the MIP
- Where an issue may arise during the execution of the MIP, the successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving the issue or representing justification to rollback the change within the given change window.
- During the change window, the candidate will work with applications teams to test to ensure applications are performing as expected ready for start of day business.
- Post execution, the successful candidate will provide day 1 support to the end client to ensure all applications and Services are performing as expected, troubleshooting and resolving any identified issues.
- Should a change fail for any reason, the candidate will be expected to conduct a post mortem and represent findings to the stakeholders and work with the wider team to ensure any lessons learnt are adopted into future work packages.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- 5 years of experience in network engineering with a focus on DC infrastructure design and migration
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot DC routing/switching technologies
- Experience with multiple networking vendors including Cisco, Arista, Fortinet, Palo Alto, F5
- Ability to work outside regular working hours as needed by the client, including evenings and weekends.
DESIRED CRITERIA
- Networking Certifications such as Cisco CCNP, Arista ACE:L4
- Experience with enterprise environments on a global scale
- Strong attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven organizational skills
- Fluent in spoken & written English preferred
