Driver/Transport Specialist

Duties And Responsibilities

The responsibilities outlined below are typical for this role but are not exhaustive. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary to meet program needs.

• Safely transport clients to and from appointments, events, and designated locations as directed by the program.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks in accordance with company policy.
• Adhere to policies and procedures for reporting vehicle accidents or incidents.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
• Complete other assigned duties to support program operations.
  
  

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Capacity to operate a vehicle continuously for up to three hours.
• Minimum of one year of continuous sobriety and freedom from chemical dependency.
  
  

Required Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities

• Strong observational and driving skills, including navigating congested areas and inclement weather (snow and ice).
• Adaptability to handle varying priorities and schedules effectively.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Lifting: None required.
• Standing: Minimal.
• Stair Climbing: None required.
• Driving: Operation of small passenger vans, typically 2–4 hours per day.
• Sitting: Continuous, up to 6 hours per day.
• Reaching: Frequent, up to 3 hours per day.
• Bending/Squatting: Occasionally, approximately 10% of the time.
• Walking: Minimal.
