Job Description
To inspect parts manufactured in-house and by subcontract manufacturers as well as raw material and work done by outside processors in order to demonstrate compliance with all Customer and Company requirements.

7 : 00AM - 3 : 30PM | Monday-Friday

Job Duties
Program and operate the coordinate measurement machine (CMM) and all inspection equipment as required to perform QC Department responsibilities.
May be assigned any of the Inspector duties by the QC Manager.
Inspects products for final acceptance in accordance with customer requirements including blue prints, special purchase order (PO) requirements and special reporting requirements. Also confirms that all previous planned operations have been completed and signed off by the responsible party.
Inspects in-process product as directed by the QC Manager or as otherwise needed.
Inspects First Article (first piece) parts in a timely manner that minimizes machine down time.
Inspects incoming product after outside processing to customer requirements.
Inspects incoming raw material to customer specifications and verifies that certifications comply.
Confirms that raw materials identified with PO number.
Maintains calibration control and performs calibrations as directed by the QC Manager.
Performs inspection planning on new jobs as needed including Inspection Plans, bubbled prints, metric conversions, allowances for plating, paint, or heat treatment.
Assures availability of necessary gages for inspection for product assessment, particularly for characteristics deemed critical.
Prepares outside process specification sheets, which the Supplier will read to become familiar with any details such as special process specification particulars, plugging / masking requirements, acceptable racking areas, any gages loaned to suppliers, tight tolerance zones, and / or any similar concerns to ensure successful processing.
Records all inspection results as required by applicable procedures and customer requirements.
Prepares Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMR) for all defective product detected during inspection and forwards to the QC Manager for Material Review Board (MRB) disposition.
Requirements
Ten (10) years related experience in manufacturing.
Proficient at reading complex blueprints / manufacturing drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Proficiency using basic dimensional measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
Ability to use measuring machines such as a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), optical comparator, height gage, etc. In the case of the Sr. Inspector proficient at programming the CMM.
Excellent math and quantitative skills.
Above average communication skills (both verbal & written).
Excellent people skills to help maintain a healthy and cooperative work environment.
Other assignments as received from the QC Manager and / or management authorities.
