The purpose of the Perlite Operator is to comprehensively run the Perlite mill and process safely and efficiently.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Working safely is first priority.
- Ensures that the perlite plant operates according to Standard Operating Procedures and meets demand.
- Conduct thorough QC testing of process and finished composite samples. Ensures product meets quality specifications.
- Utilization of JDE software to enter production receipts and finished code data.
- Ensure Perlite Unit GMP’s are adhered to.
- Drive process reliability and process optimization improvements through continuous inspection and monitoring of process conditions, record readings and make necessary adjustments.
- Conduct workplace inspections focusing on any potential safety hazards. Ensure housekeeping standards are met and all areas are maintained in a clean and professional manner.
- Support minor maintenance activities within Perlite unit.
- Maintain high level communication with Perlite Foreman to ensure efficiency and meeting all plant goals.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong technical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work with a high degree of independence
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (written and verbal)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (multi-tasking skills a must)
- Good attention to quality and detail
- Good computer skills
- Ability to work extended hours or weekends as needed.
- Mechanical ability, preferred
- Welding experience; preferred but not required
