Qualifications:
Sufficient formal education to enable the performance of daily tasks with the understanding of what is involved. Personality attuned to the requirements of meeting needs of the infirm and aged. Previous management experience required. Oversees operations at the facility to include managing the building, employees, and services. Must be able to hand issues related with local, state, and federal compliance regulations. Create Policies and procedure to ensure proper resident care.
Must complete one educational course on the management of assisted living facilities, which must include information on the assisted living standards; resident characteristics (including dementia), resident assessment and skills working with residents; basic principles of management; food and nutrition services; federal laws, with an emphasis on the Americans with Disabilities Act's accessibility requirements; community resources; ethics, and financial management. The following qualifications apply:
course must be 24 hours; Eight hours on assisted living standards must be completed in the first three months of employment; 24 hours training requirement may be met through classroom training, correspondence courses, training videos, distance learning programs, or off-site training course; 24 hours must be completed by the first anniversary of employment as manager; manager will show evidence of twelve hours of annual continuing education in at least two of the following areas; resident and provider rights and responsibilities, abuse/neglect and confidentiality, basic principles of supervision, skills for working with residents, families and other professional service providers, resident characteristics and needs, knowledge of community resource, CPR
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists LVN Supervisor to meet residential needs and monitor the caring of residents wellbeing
Responsible for all aspects of the day to day operations of the facility
Interface daily with all residents
Responsible for the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of residents
Assist LVN with the Interface with doctors, home-health agencies, hospices and other agencies or individual who have contact with residents
Assist with hiring, training, and supervising all staff members
Responsible for assuring that all state standards and facility procedures are implemented, followed, and updated as required
Responsible for assuring that all residents are treated with dignity and respect
Assist to ensure the safety and well being of all residents at all times
Assist in handling all questions, complaints, and concerns with the Assisting Living Facility
Assist with facility tours and complete documentation for potential residents
