Position Overview
The Construction Quality Coordinator (CQC) is a critical role within the Quality Team, working collaboratively with the Chief Inspector and project team to ensure exceptional safety and quality standards during the Project. This position guides construction and commissioning phases by establishing quality culture and ensuring compliance with work processes and procedures. The CQC continuously monitors project status, documentation, and processes to verify adherence to the established Quality Management Plan (QMP).
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the dedicated onsite Quality representative, fostering and supporting a robust quality culture
- Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement and address obstacles affecting safe, efficient construction operations
- Conduct thorough pre-audit checks of construction records, including inspector certifications/qualifications and contractor QMP conformance
- Perform and document Quality Surveillance activities on specific construction operations
- Enforce commitment to safety, environmental, and quality standards across all construction activities
- Ensure proper documentation of required results through inspector reports and Contractor Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
- Collaborate with contractors to meet document turnover requirements and conduct ongoing record reviews
- Partner with the Construction Management Team to identify non-conformance issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction quality assurance/control, preferably in energy infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and industry standards
- Experience with document control and quality record management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with diverse project stakeholders
- Ability to identify and resolve quality issues through systematic problem-solving approaches
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Relevant certifications in quality management or construction quality control preferred
