We are hiring a Summer Student position working out of EPCOR Tower in downtown Edmonton to work with our Digital Insights GIS Team!

The Coop, Geospatial will assist the Digital Insights GIS team by leveraging geospatial analytics to deliver specific deliverables to support EPCOR Water Services. This will include development of spatial data, thematic maps, sharing of spatial datasets with EWS internal clients, and spatial analysis as needed to support the EWS Situational Awareness Roadmap implementation and broader GIS support requests in EWS.

What you’d be responsible for
- Data conversion tasks in support of Kananaskis area water treatment facility
- Supporting GIS analysts in delivering support and training to staff across EWS for geospatial analysis (ArcGIS) and mobile work force management tool (GeoFIT).
The successful candidate will gain an understanding of:
- Spatial data creation using FME and ArcGIS Pro data conversion tools
- Quality control approaches to data creation
- Corporate level Enterprise Portal structure and management
- EPCOR culture and how water utilities operate
Work experience will include:
- Practice presenting to colleagues
- Understanding of GIS data structure
What’s required to be successful
- Must be working on a diploma or degree in Geography, GIS, Engineering, or related field from a recognized school or institute of technology.
- Experience in customer service role.
- Exceptional communication skills with good English written and verbal communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with ESRI products (preferably ArcGIS Pro 2.x or higher) through post-secondary coursework
- Hands-on experience with FME
- Oracle database query knowledge an asset

Hours of work: 8 hours/day; 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday
SEP-T Hourly Rates for 2025: $34.84 per hour; Final Wage and Step will be determined at the time of selection and is subject to change based on the ratification of the new Collective Agreement.
