Epec Engineered Technologies engineers, designs, manufactures, and assembles custom battery packs, user interfaces, RF filters, cable assemblies, printed circuit boards, flexible heaters, and EC fans/motors.
The Mechanical Engineer (ME) will assist in product design, manufacturing process development, and cross-functional collaboration. The engineer will work with SolidWorks to create 3D models and detailed drawings, support logistics through Bill of Materials (BOM) development, and contribute to documentation efforts including SOPs and engineering change processes. The engineer will be involved with products ranging from electromechanical assemblies through sheet metal fabrication to PCBAs, electrical cables and machined parts, etc.
Mechanical Engineer Job Responsibilities:
- Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) process to provide design assistance and establish a clear plan to bring customer products to the production stage.
- Create 3D models and corresponding drawings for production parts and assemblies in SolidWorks.
- Support logistics team by creating a Bill of Materials to be used with quotes, provide additional assistance as required.
- Assist in documenting and updating manufacturing processes by creating and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs), among other documentation.
- Support Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Engineering Change Orders (ECO), and Document Control Requests (DCR).
- Design and construct fixtures for product assembly and testing.
- Develop manufacturing process designs and coordinate with tooling and equipment sources for construction and validation.
- Review assembly operations, component designs, and corresponding details to verify manufacturing
- feasibility.
- Interface with peers, suppliers, and industry organizations to research and develop new process designs and technology concepts.
- Work with the Quality Department team to identify sources and countermeasures for non-conforming products.

Compensation Summary:
- Salary: Up to 70K Based on Experience

Mechanical Engineer Qualifications / Skills:
- Communicate effectively using both email and telephone in a professional manner.
- Strong written, verbal and computer skills required. (Technical writing of assembly procedures)
- Operate under a sense of urgency while maintaining attention to detail and time constraints.
- The ability to prioritize and work independently.
- Strong problem solving/analysis skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to support Epec’s workflow.
- Commercial mechanical assembly experience.
Education Experience and Licensing Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant Engineering disciplines.
- Demonstrated proficiency in SolidWorks (as evidenced by certifications or design portfolio)
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Experience in manufacturing a plus.
