Requirements
- Teaching Certification and an endorsement in Fine Arts (dance, drama, music, or visual arts) or willing to obtain one
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience working with students in a classroom setting
- Professional Educator License for the State of Utah
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong computer and educational technology skills
- Effective problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to implement effective teaching strategies
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students and staff
Responsibilities
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials based on USBE Fine Arts Standards.
- Teach grade-specific lessons weekly or bi-weekly as per the school's schedule.
- Manage student behavior according to the school's PBIS plan.
- Collaborate with grade-level teacher teams to plan and deliver arts-integrated lessons.
- Prepare and facilitate demonstrations, exhibitions, or performances showcasing student work.
- Request necessary supplies and materials for instruction from the principal.
- Communicate with parents regarding student progress through various means.
- Identify student needs and collaborate with other professionals to address challenges.
- Create an effective learning environment with displays and interest centers.
- Utilize technology and educational tools in instruction.
- Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment.
- Participate in faculty meetings and educator evaluation procedures.
