Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Under moderate direction (direct or phone contact) the licensed physical therapy assistant treats patients, according to the guidelines and goals set forth by the physical therapist. Demonstrates a commitment to professional accountability and growth to maintain and expand knowledge and skills. Contributes to the achievement of the mission and philosophy of the Organization. Contributes to the effective operations of the Organization by demonstrating dependability in job performance. Exhibits the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).
WORKING CONDITIONS, HAZARDS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Indoor department, clean and pleasant. Well lighted and ventilated. 40 hour work week with holiday and weekend rotation. The task of this job involves exposure to blood, body fluids and tissue. Considerable stooping, kneeling, pushing and pulling required. Exposure to physical and mental anguish. Must be able to move or position 25 lbs. independently.
CONTACTS WITH OTHERS:
Frequent contact with ancillary staff, PT's, nursing, doctors.
EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Computer skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENTS:
Education: Associate's Degree from approved PTA school.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) months exposure to related field to include successful completion of clinical.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS:
Kentucky license.
