POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title : Part-time Van Driver
Reports To : Transportation Coordinator
Date : February 2025
Position Role
A part-time position under the general supervision of the Transportation Coordinator that is responsible for the transporting of EARS, Inc. clients over assigned routes; ensuring vehicle operation is in a safe operating condition; and ensuring safety of the EARS, Inc. clients during transport, loading and unloading from vans.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assists EARS, Inc. clients for the purpose of providing safe loading and unloading from van including both emergency situations (including van evacuation) and normal transport.
- Attends trainings for the purpose of maintaining skills, meeting insurance requirements, and providing client care.
- Drives EARS, Inc. vans for the purpose of transporting clients over scheduled routes and to / from EARS, Inc. programs in a safe and timely manner.
- Informs EARS, Inc. personnel of practices and incidents for the purpose of providing information for follow-up action / procedure.
- Maintains assigned van, both interior and exterior for the purpose of ensuring the safety, appearance, and sanitation of vehicle.
- Consults with program staff to understand best practices in relating to each passenger. Consults with Program Specialist regarding incidents and restrictions of van transportation.
