Maintanance Supervisor

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

Plans and coordinates daily work schedules and assignments.

Establishes turf maintenance procedures and controls.

Assures proper operating conditions, safety, and maintenance of equipment and

machinery, such as mowers, tractors, trucks, compressors, and various hand and power equipment.

Supervises subordinate employees.

Plans and conducts business for the Borough of Ephrata on their open space and properties.

Assists in the development of plans for layout and maintenance of new park

facilities.

Recommends specifications for equipment acquisition, including capital

improvement requests.

Purchases materials, supplies, and tools for the Parks Division.

Assists the Executive Director in long-range planning for Park Division.

Investigates citizens' complaints relative to Division responsibilities and initiates appropriate action to resolve the matter.

Assists the Executive Director with planning, scheduling, and managing Rec Center maintenance projects.

DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE

Considerable knowledge of:

Materials, equipment, methods, and practices used in the maintenance, operation, repair, and construction of parks, athletic fields, playgrounds, aquatic facilities, roadways, trails and other related facilities.

Office management practice and methods, including establishment of an efficient file system for records management.

Practices and principles of park management, including a sound knowledge of turf maintenance and landscaping.

Carpentry, plumbing, electrical skills of a general nature in coordinating routine maintenance and repair of park facilities and grounds.

Various chemical, pesticides and herbicides used in controlling plant and

vegetation diseases and pests.

Turf maintenance, fertilizers, and proper application for proper grounds

maintenance.

Supervisory practices and techniques.

Budget preparation and expense monitoring.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Undergraduate degree in related field.

3-5 years xperience in park management.

Computer experience in Windows applications.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Must possess and maintain a valid Pennsylvaniadriver's license.

Current certification in CPR.

Criminal and Child Abuse background check.

Playground Inspector Certification.

Certified Pool Operators Certificate.

Pesticide Applicator Liscense

Water Slide Inspector Certification

The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places, and is occasionally exposed to working

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
