What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pool Manager- Denver Pool position at Ephrata Recreation Center?
Summary
Responsible for effectively managing the lifeguard staff, as well as keeping the patrons safe while on pool grounds.
Essential functions
- Protect the safety and health of all patrons.
- Provide excellent customer service through consistent, fair, and courteous enforcement of rules.
- Maintain work area and surrounding environment.
- Responsible for keeping the facility clean.
- Responsible for mid-season performance evaluations for lifeguards.
- Completes head guard and lifeguard monthly schedules.
Related functions
- Leads performance audits for lifeguard and head lifeguard staff.
- Assists in regular lifeguard training.
- Serves as the primary leadership position for the assigned pool.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to demonstrate physical fitness to include frequent light to occasional heavy lifting (up to 70 lbs.), swimming, standing, and walking for long periods of time, bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Able to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time and intermittently.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms, push items overhead, occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Ability to talk, hear, and see.

- Ability to provide direct leadership, instruction.
- Knows and understands emergency procedures.
- Ability to maintain focus and alertness while on duty.
Skills
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency of swim skills.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills.
Abilities
- Must be able to communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and other patrons.
Required Education and Experience
- Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Preferred Education and Experience
- 3 Years Lifeguarding.
- Prior supervisory experience
