Job Summary: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in a manufacturing warehouse environment. This role ensures the efficient operation of machinery and electrical systems to minimize downtime and maximize productivity while adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of production machinery and facility equipment.
- Conduct emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and perform scheduled maintenance as needed.
- Execute mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs on production machines.
- Perform machinist duties, including diagnosing problems, replacing or repairing parts, testing, and making adjustments.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to carry out required maintenance tasks.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
- Address plumbing and carpentry needs within the facility.
- Utilize hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment to complete tasks.
- Detect and report faulty operations, defective materials, or unusual situations to supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
- 3 years of experience in electronic/electrical maintenance within an industrial setting. preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical skills, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electronics, PLC programming, VFDs, and automation systems.
- Ability to diagnose, repair, and install electrical and control systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and work orders.
- Experience with preventative maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with plumbing, carpentry, and general facility maintenance tasks.
- Proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools, as well as testing equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the workday.
- Capability to lift and move items over 75 pounds frequently.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
