Compensation: $60,000-65,000

Summary:
Join our team as a Student Engagement Specialist and become a driving force in fostering a dynamic and inclusive online student community at Epic. You will play a crucial role in conceptualizing and executing initiatives that enhance student engagement, promote a sense of belonging, and support holistic student development. With a primary focus on virtual interactions, you will design and coordinate a wide range of programs, events, and activities aimed at enriching the online student experience and empowering students statewide to thrive academically, socially, and personally.
This role requires the ability to work collaboratively across the Student Engagement team and with other departments at Epic. As a self-starter, you will demonstrate initiative in identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement within our student engagement efforts, driving forward-thinking strategies to continually enhance the online student experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Collaborate with students, staff, faculty, and stakeholders across the state of Oklahoma to identify student needs, interests, and priorities related to online engagement and involvement
Plan, implement, and evaluate a variety of engaging virtual and in-person programs, events, and activities designed to enhance student engagement and foster community
Assist in running student organizations and clubs
Develop and maintain relationships with student leaders, stakeholders, and community partners to enhance collaboration and participation in programming efforts
Utilize digital platforms and technology to facilitate in-person and virtual interactions, engagement, and programming initiatives
Utilize data and feedback to assess the effectiveness of in-person and virtual programming initiatives and make data-informed decisions for continuous improvement
Collaborate with marketing and communication teams to promote virtual programming initiatives and increase student awareness and participation

Qualifications:
Experience in student affairs, event planning, program development, or related areas preferred
Strong understanding of student development theories, principles, and best practices in an online learning environment
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with diverse student populations virtually
Creativity, innovation, and enthusiasm for designing and implementing engaging virtual programming initiatives
Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a virtual team environment and independently with minimal supervision
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive online learning environment for all students
Passionate commitment to the mission of school choice
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; coursework in education, student affairs, or related field preferred
Experience working with diverse populations
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of PowerSchool, Jira, Google applications, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Must have a high aptitude to learn new software as necessary for the business operations of the school.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Current driver's license and valid car insurance
Google certification preferred
Other Qualifications
Must be able to pass a state-mandated background check after a conditional offer of employment is made
Must have favorable employment references
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to support programming events

This position is remotely based but must also travel to various Epic sites and events. This requires spending a significant amount of time in the car, driving in various conditions and at various times of the day. The noise level is quiet to moderately loud (when students are present.)
