EPIC Early Learning is currently seeking an enthusiastic ECEAP Temporary Transportation Assistant to join our team. As a Bus Aide, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe transportation of children to and from our centers. Your responsibilities will include assisting the Bus Driver in maintaining a safe and orderly bus environment, ensuring the well-being of the children during transit, and helping with the implementation of safety protocols. Responsibilities- Ensure that children enter and exit the bus in a safe manner, remain seated while bus is in motion and assure that children are released to listed authorized person(s) in accordance with EPIC policies
- Help children secure seat belts and other safety restraints
- Assure that age appropriate guidance and activities for children are maintained on the bus
- Implement safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Communicate effectively with the Bus Driver and other staff members
- Maintain accurate records of daily route and passenger information
- Assist in the classroom when you are not on the bus
- Follow program policies and procedures
- Attend training and meetings as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Be committed to the culture of safety within our centers, playgrounds, buses, and anywhere that children may be present. Be familiar with and encourage EPIC's culture of "See Something, Say Something".
Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- Valid Washington State Driver's License & auto insurance required
- Experience working with young children is preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Basic computer skills are a plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is an asset
Pay Level: $17.30 to $18.34 Hourly (Temporary position)
1 hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked
Conditions of Employment:
Salary : $17 - $18
