EPIC Early Learning is currently seeking a dedicated Transportation Assistant to join our team. As a private, nonprofit organization, EPIC has been providing early childhood educational services to children and families in Central Washington for over 45 years. As a Transportation Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe transportation of children to and from our centers. Your responsibilities will include assisting the Bus Driver in maintaining a safe and orderly bus environment, ensuring the well-being of the children during transit, and helping with the implementation of safety protocols. This position is a great opportunity for individuals who are passionate about the well-being and safety of children.
Responsibilities- Ensure that children enter and exit the bus in a safe manner, remain seated while the bus is in motion, and ensure that children are released to the listed authorized person(s) in accordance with EPIC policies
- Help children secure seat belts and other safety restraints
- Assure that age-appropriate guidance and activities for children are maintained on the bus
- Implement safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Communicate effectively with the Bus Driver and other staff members
- Maintain accurate records of daily route and passenger information
- Assist in the classroom when you are not on the bus
- Follow program policies and procedures
- Attend training and meetings as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Be committed to the culture of safety within our centers, playgrounds, buses, and anywhere that children may be present. Be familiar with and encourage EPIC's culture of "See Something, Say Something".
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- HSD/GED
- Valid Washington State Driver's License & Auto insurance
- At least one (1) year of work experience with young children
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations
- Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
- Basic computer proficiency preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Pay Level: $17.30 to $18.34 Hourly (9-month position)
