Infant / Toddler Teacher (Migrant Head Start)

EPIC Early Learning is looking for a compassionate Infant / Toddler Teacher to join our Migrant Head Start program. Our organization has been dedicated to enhancing the lives of children and families in Central Washington for over 45 years. We strive to provide high-quality, family-centered education for our youngest learners and support their growth in a nurturing environment.

The Infant / Toddler Teacher will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children aged 0-3 years. You will collaborate with fellow educators and families to foster children's development through hands-on activities and individualized care. Your role will be critical in supporting children’s emotional and educational needs while ensuring a positive early learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and implementing lesson plans that promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of infants and toddlers.
  • Establish and maintain a nurturing, safe, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
  • Engage with families to build meaningful relationships and encourage their involvement in their child’s education.
  • Observe and assess children's development and document significant milestones.
  • Collaborate with a team of educators and participate in ongoing training and professional development.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create a positive learning environment
  • Follow program policies and procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Be committed to characterizing a culture of safety within our centers, playgrounds, buses and anywhere that children may be present. Be familiar with and encourage EPICs culture of "See Something, Say Something".

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, or hold an Infant / Toddler State Certificate or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a licensed childcare setting, working specifically with infants and toddlers.
  • Completion of 30 hours of STARS training in Childcare Basics.
  • Understanding of child development principles and best practices for early childhood education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with children, families, and team members.
  • A passion for educating and nurturing young children in a supportive learning environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with educational technology.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Pay Level : $21.212 to $24.92 Hourly

    Note : This position is for the 2025 MSHS program beginning on April 17, 2025.

    Conditions of Employment :

  • Prior to employment, complete a pre-employment drug screen, Tb skin test by an EPIC approved healthcare provider at no cost to the employee.
  • Pre-employment basic physical by an EPIC healthcare provider (obtain within (30) days of employment and no cost to the employee).
  • Must pass an initial and periodic background check through the Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF).
  • Provide proof of MMR vaccination and / or resistance to Measles, Mumps & Rubella.
  • Current Food Handlers card (obtain the training within 30 days of employment).
  • Current First Aid / CPR card (obtain within thirty 30 days of employment).
  • Complete Childcare Basics 30 hours STARS training within 3 months of hire
  • Meet the minimum education requirements within the timeframe as stated in the performance standards.
  • Complete Child Abuse and Neglect training and all other mandated training.
  • CEO Approval.
