EPIC Early Learning is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Preschool Transportation Assistant to join our team. As a private, nonprofit organization, EPIC has been providing early childhood educational services to children and families in Central Washington for over 35 years. Our mission is to empower children to reach their full potential through nurturing relationships, engaging experiences, and high-quality education.
As a Transportation Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe transportation of children to and from our centers. Your responsibilities will include assisting the Bus Driver in maintaining a safe and orderly bus environment, ensuring the well-being of the children during transit, and helping with the implementation of safety protocols. Responsibilities- Ensure that children enter and exit the bus in a safe manner, remain seated while bus is in motion and assure that children are released to listed authorized person(s) in accordance with EPIC policies
- Help children secure seat belts and other safety restraints
- Assure that age appropriate guidance and activities for children are maintained on the bus
- Implement safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Communicate effectively with the Bus Driver and other staff members
- Maintain accurate records of daily route and passenger information
- Assist in the classroom when you are not on the bus
- Follow program policies and procedures
- Attend training and meetings as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Be committed to the culture of safety within our centers, playgrounds, buses, and anywhere that children may be present. Be familiar with and encourage EPIC's culture of "See Something, Say Something".
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- HSD/GED
- Experience working with children preferred
- Valid Washington State Driver's License & Auto insurance
- At least one (1) year work experience with young children
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations
- Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
- Basic computer proficiency preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Pay Level:
$17.30 to $18.34 Hourly
Location: 220 E Helena Ave Ellensburg, WA 98936
1 hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked
Conditions of Employment:
Salary : $17 - $18
