Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)
Provides flight, simulator, and ground instruction in accordance with Epic Aviation flight school and FAA regulations and procedures. Prepares and maintains records, and ensures that course standards, training requirements, and objectives are met by each student in each flight course.
Essential Functions:
- Provide flight, simulator, and ground instruction in accordance with Epic Aviation and FAA regulations and procedures. Prepare schedules, and ensure that course standards, training requirements, and objectives are met by each student in each flight course.
- Perform those flight instructor duties authorized by the Federal Aviation Regulations in accordance with the approved Training Course Outline. Ensure all students understand and practice all aspects of Epic Aviation’s Safety Program.
- Regularly Schedule each assigned student to ensure satisfactory progress through the course and immediately inform the supervisor of any delays in training or satisfactory progress.
- Responsible for accurately maintaining all appropriate records to include student training records, student logbooks, and computer records.
- Ensure that course standards, training requirements, and objectives are met by all assigned students as stipulated in the applicable Training Course Outline.
- Initiate progress checks as per Epic scheduling procedures.
- Responsible for the timely course completion of all flight students assigned, including completion of required paperwork and assignment of final course grade.
- Monitor the maintenance condition of the training aircraft, and inform Epic Aviation maintenance personnel of any questionable items.
- Recommended curriculum and courseware improvements when appropriate and develop new curriculum or courseware as assigned.
- File incident reports as necessary to report any observed safety violations, or situations that may affect the safety of flight.
- Attend administrative, standardization, in-service training, and instructor development meetings as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must hold a current FAA Class I, or Class II Medical Certificate.
- Perform an average of 25 instructional hours per one-week pay period. (15 instructional)
- Maintain 80% pass rate for progress checks and check-rides.
Qualifications:
- Education/Special Training experience required
- Must hold a current and valid FAA Certified Flight Instructor for appropriate instruction level provided
- Aircraft piloting skills, including familiarity with and ability to perform required flight maneuvers and procedures
- Knowledge of the ability to apply effective instructional technique in the classroom and in flight
- Knowledge of appropriate Federal Aviation Regulations and Epic Aviation Administrative, operational procedures and requirements.
- Must pass Standardization Check ride in appropriate aircraft relative to training level
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while exercising sound judgment at all times.
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
Must provide personal equipment for instruction as appropriate to include headsets, instrument covers, current navigational charts, Practical Test Standards, and all other technical publications.
Salary commensurate with experience and Flight Instructor Ratings received.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
