Position Summary:
Our nursing home is seeking a dedicated and experienced Housekeeping Director to lead our housekeeping department and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents. The Housekeeping Director will be responsible for overseeing all cleaning and sanitation operations within the facility, leading a team of housekeeping staff, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Housekeeping Director Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring all areas of the facility are cleaned and maintained to meet health and safety standards.
- Develop and implement effective cleaning schedules and procedures, ensuring timely and thorough completion of tasks.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate housekeeping staff to ensure efficient and high-quality performance.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring they are fully stocked and in good working condition.
- Perform regular inspections of the facility to ensure cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards are consistently met.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety regulations, as well as facility policies.

- Manage the housekeeping department budget, controlling costs and tracking expenses.

Housekeeping Director Qualifications:
A very hands-on approach to managing housekeeping operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and organization.
High school diploma or equivalent (additional training in facility management or housekeeping preferred).
- Experience in a supervisory or management role in housekeeping, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, residents, and families.
