What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll and Credit Clerk position at EPIC Metals?
EPIC Metals Corporation is hiring a payroll/credit clerk. This is a full-time, mostly in-office position. Three days per week, the new employee will train with EPIC’s Payroll Coordinator and perform discreet tasks delegated by Coordinator. Eventually, this person will take over administration of weekly hourly payroll and associated tasks, including record keeping, benefits oversight, time and attendance tracking, insurance, and other aspects. Two days per week, the new employee will work directly with EPIC’s Credit Manager and perform discreet tasks as delegated. The employee will learn to conduct corporate credit checks as well as how to ensure the company has bond or lien rights. The employee will ensure that a contract has been created between EPIC and the customer and that EPIC’s terms control. The employee will eventually interact with customers and conduct basic contract negotiation. Lastly, the employee will be expected to serve as a reserve receptionist as needed. This position has the opportunity for growth and future promotion.
The primary skills and traits that will make the candidate successful are diligence, basic math skills, attention to detail, people skills, solid writing ability, and an ability to learn and be flexible with changing tasks. Competency in MS Word and Excel is required. Experience with either payroll software or Infor Syteline or CloudSuite is a plus; desire and ability to learn the necessary systems is required.
Two years’ experience in payroll, contract administration, or collections is preferred. The candidate should be willing and enthusiastic to learn the other tasks described above. Other office experience demonstrating the desired skills will be considered.
High school diploma is required. Further education or certifications is a plus, but not required.
