Requirements
- MA License
- 2 years minimum experience
- Skill Sets Required: Trauma informed, patient-centered, and verbally capable of de-escalating patients. We treat patients with diverse types of mental health issues (anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, dual diagnosis patients detox here on the unit while treating mental health issues), and some medically acute patients (IVs, CPAPs, wound and diabetic care).
- Proficient in using automatic medication dispensing system (Omni Cell); proficient in electronic health records documentation, preferably EPIC; proficient in the use of psychotropic medications and side effects.
- Able to assume the role of charge nurse. Able to complete admissions and discharges. Competent in the use of IV pumps; competent in care of a diabetic patient.
- AHA BLS
- Certification in De-escalation
- EMR (Charting System): EPIC
- COVID-19 Vaccine
- Will float to various mental health units throughout the hospital (Pedi, Adult & Geri Psych)
- Clinician to Patient Ratio: Unit specific. Pedi Psych is: 1 to 3. Adult & Geri Psych is 1:7 or 8
