Note*** This position is for 1- 2 hours a week with the potential to grow.

Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the primary purpose of this position is the implementation of a child’s individual treatment plan. The Community Based Rehabilitative Service is designed to teach parents in natural settings such as home or childcare center how to best support the development of their child who is not, or who is at risk of not typically developing. Age group served is 0 – 3 yrs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Plan and implement activities that help reach goals as defined in the treatment plan.

Ensure that the child is engaged and supervised and that health and safety is maintained at all times.

Uphold the rights of the child at all times.

Ask and seek help from supervisor when needed.

Understand children’s treatment plans and be able to assess a child’s needs and communicate to supervisor any identified needs that you are unable to meet.

Assist children (male and/or female) with personal hygiene needs as needed (e.g. assisting with toileting, diapering, feeding, etc) only as required in the treatment plan.

Assist with the development of (when requested) and follow child’s schedules.

Follow health care regulations, behavior regulations and children’s written treatment plans.

Maintain necessary records on children (e.g. developmental records, accident reports, documentation for funding agencies).

Communicate professionally and positively with children, parents, caregivers, visitors and other professionals.

Participate in professional conferences, training programs, and continuing education as required.

Maintain children’s confidentiality at all times.

Participate in and provide input into children’s treatment plans.

Support children through their daily activities and ensure that such activities are performed in an effort to meet child’s goals. Provide appropriate development materials for children and assist with the assessment of their progress.

Assist in providing a safe, positive, stimulating learning and social environment.

Assist in scheduling and coordinating activities for child as outlined in the treatment plan.

Communicate problems, questions and issues regarding child’s needs/concerns to the coordinator.

Provide feedback, information, ideas or suggested changes for the program to the appropriate management personnel.

Complete routine paperwork daily (e.g. attendance, data sheets, professional contact forms, as outlined in the treatment plan) and submit to supervisor by due date.

Complete Incident/Accident report as needed.

Ensure parent/caregiver is involved in CBRS/Special Instruction sessions (whether at home or school location) as required per state regulations.

Provide guidance to parents/caregivers regarding appropriate developmental expectations for their child through hands-on modeling, demonstration and coaching of interactions and activities that parents/caregivers can do to support development.

Abide by, enforce and participate in the implementation and ongoing oversight of all safety standards and regulations

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no direct employee supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Education (including: Special/Elementary, Early Childhood, or B/Pre-K education), Child/Family Studies, Counseling, Human Development, Family Studies, Nursing, Psychology, or Social Work. Experience in working with children birth to three required.

Additional and/or Program Specific Responsibilities:
A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and approved automobile insurance are required for this position.
