What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer Planner position at Epiroc Drilling Solutions, LLC?
POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Buyer/Planner is a key member of the staff, responsible for the planning and purchasing of direct materials used in production. This position works with select suppliers to ensure on time delivery at competitive pricing, while managing optimal inventory levels.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to execute the sourcing strategies, in alignment with business initiatives to meet established goals and drive continuous improvements
- Execute purchase orders with preselected suppliers and perform the required follow up to
- assure timely delivery
- Ensure EPR is updated with current and accurate delivery dates
- Escalate all planning errors, as well as price and lead time changes, to the appropriate
- planning or sourcing personal
- Communicate engineering change requirements to suppliers when applicable
- Work with warehouse personnel to resolve purchase order discrepancies (POD) in a timely manner
- Support suppliers with blocked invoices due to receiving errors/issues to ensure supplier
- payment issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Perform the disposition of obsolete and slow-moving inventory when required
- Monitor and update procurement parameters in the ERP system to ensure master data

- Maintain open and effective communication with appropriate teams regarding supply chain issues and offer potential solutions
- Support all levels of the organization as it relates to their involvement in the procurement of goods through the supply chain
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships
- Support and participate in continuous improvement efforts
- Comply with Epiroc's Purchasing policy
- Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree preferred; APICS, CPSM, or Supply Chain Certification is a plus
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or a related industry
- Experience in supply chain management and manufacturing operations
- High level of knowledge related to lean manufacturing preferred
- ERP (M3 or other) experience preferred * Proficient in Excel Microsoft office
