Mission: The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for assuring the safe, efficient, and timely completion of all warehousing functions within the Distribution Center. This position leads the hourly work force and has the responsibility to ensure timely execution of vital warehouse functions to meet all aftermarket customer demands. Oversees the work performed in the DC warehouse as well as various functions in support of the distribution center. Must be able to recognize interruptions to normal material flow and react quickly. Must have strong organizational and communication skills. As needed, act as Safety Coordinator and Emergency Evacuation Leader.

Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance to subordinate warehouse personnel and facilitate employee issue resolution
• Oversee, direct and motivate employees
• Assign and direct personnel to achieve departmental targets
• Assist in establishing and updating performance standards for subordinates
• Prioritize activities and take necessary actions to meet Distribution Center targets
• Ensure safety, quality and housekeeping standards are met daily
• Work with DC management to establish processes to meet ship schedules
• Ensure that all vital warehouse functions are executed on a daily basis
• Constantly monitor environment looking for risk areas
• Develop work force to ensure “Safety First” is a way of life
• Performs overall coordination of all in-house emergency matters
  
  

The ideal candidate:

• Associates degree or equivalent work experience in a warehouse/distribution environment
• At least 5 years manufacturing and/or warehousing/distribution experience
• Basic computer skills – Word and Excel
• Basic knowledge of and/or experience with ERP and Warehouse Management Systems Knowledge of carrier/transportation procedures
  
  

To be effective in this position, the Warehouse Supervisor should be a trainer and coach. If an employee doesn’t perform properly, it is the incumbent’s responsibility to try and help the employee resolve the problem and succeed in the job assigned. The Warehouse Supervisor needs to demonstrate commitment and a sense of urgency to continually improve the performance and service level of the distribution center. Responsible for meeting the objectives of our ISO programs. When there are any questions regarding these programs they shall be directed to your supervisor/manager or the facility ISO representative. Supervisors and managers are responsible for communicating policy and objectives of ISO programs to their employees.
