What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Manager position at Episcopal Children's Services?
GENERAL DESCRIPTION : The Behavioral Health Manager ensures that the Child Mental Health performance standards are met in Head Start.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
1.Responsible for the delivery, tracking and reporting of outcomes of HeadStart Child Mental Health performance standards.
2.Provide training, support, and supervision to Child Mental Health Specialist and Behavior Intervention Specialists.
3.Track Domestic Violence Reporting group and coordinate follow-up as needed, including safety planning.
4.Track Specialist Support Requests and coordinate follow-up as needed, including individualized case management.
5.Establish and implement policies and procedures that comply and enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of child mental health and behavioral services.
6.Utilize information obtained from developmental screenings, observations, evaluations, and parent input to design a program that meets the mental health and behavioral needs and individual needs of children.
7.Track social emotional screenings to ensure completion within 45 days of the child's enrollment into the program; ensure follow-up is provided as needed.
8.Ensure Child Mental Health Specialists and Behavior Intervention Specialists have a consistent schedule for center-visits, classroom support, home-based support, and parent consultation.
9.Ensure compliant documentation for children with identified mental health and behavioral concerns including consent, referrals, behavior plans, and activities for teaching staff.
10.Ensure compliant documentation in Child Plus for children with identified mental health and behavioral concerns including observations, transactions, and required documentation.
11.Monitor monthly reports for Child Mental Health Specialist and Behavior Intervention Specialists to ensure accuracy.
12.Remain informed of relevant information related to the safety and well-being of children and families while maintaining compliance with ECS's policies and procedures.
13.Work closely with the Family Services department to ensure quality mental health and behavior support is available to families as needed.
14.Work closely with the Education department to ensure classroom teaching staff are adequately supported to best serve children with mental health and behavioral concerns.
15.Track program supplies and social emotional materials; place orders for supplies as needed and in accordance with the budget.
16.Track and monitor contracts with community partners; renew as needed.
17.Collaborate with community partners and resources to establish new mental health and behavior intervention contracts and agreements.
18.Assist with the implementation of the University Practicum Student program within the Head Start programs.
19.Coordinate with Health and Nutrition Services Manager to coordinate case management and file reviews for all centers on caseload.
20.Assist Health and Nutrition Services Manager and Family Services department in coordinating summer screenings.
21.Coordinate mental health and behavior intervention trainings throughout the year and during preservice training.
22.Work with Health Services Manager to coordinate Health and Mental Health Service Advisory Committee meetings.
23.Ensure Child Mental Health Specialists are up to date on required trainings and certifications related to licensing.
24.Assist in mental health initiatives within the agency.
25.Ensure accurate PIR data is maintained as it relates to health.
