It is the responsibility of the Rehab Aide to prepare patients and equipment for the treatment
session, assist the therapist in administering treatments, and perform tasks to maintain the
department in an orderly condition. The incumbent is also responsible for routinely assisting in
various secretarial tasks as requested and covering reception desk in absence of the secretary.

Job Description
It is the responsibility of the Rehab Aide to prepare patients and equipment for the treatment
session, assist the therapist in administering treatments, and perform tasks to maintain the
department in an orderly condition. The incumbent is also responsible for routinely assisting in
various secretarial tasks as requested and covering reception desk in absence of the secretary.
Responsibilities
- Positions equipment, materials, and supplies for specific use after retrieving from storage areas.
- Prepares cleaning and paraffin baths, and thermotherapy equipment by filling tanks, setting automatic timing device, and checking and adjusting temperature controls.
- Ensures the safe transportation of patient to and from hospital unit or waiting area before and after treatment by directing and/or assisting patient with walking, or using wheelchair or stretcher.
- Assists patient with dressing and undressing, and donning treatment garments and aids.
- Assists self-sufficient patient to properly position themselves on equipment, devices, or treatment tables. Aids therapist to properly position patients requiring assistance.
- Cleans equipment, storage shelves, tables, chairs, and glassware after use or as prescribed by departmental policy being sure to use appropriate detergents, soaps, water, and other supplies.
- Delivers patients’ charts to therapists for review for PI/QI process and assists in maintenance of patient charts as required.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Previous experience in Physical Therapy/ Rehabilitation Department or physician’s practice preferred.
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks to assist patients and therapist. Able to work with patients and show tact and consideration to secure cooperation.
Salary : $24 - $25
