What are the responsibilities and job description for the Theatre Program Coordinator position at Episcopal High School?
Episcopal High School is seeking a Theatre Program Coordinator (TPC) to oversee all Theatre program classes and curricular development and teach classes. The TPC will supervise the Technical Director in their work on the Theatre productions, assign tasks to, and oversee, teachers with additional responsibilities in their theatre production activities. The TPC will plan and lead weekly production meetings for long term planning and show selection, production management, and day-to-day Theatre program activities. They will direct an agreed number of shows, oversee the other shows, and be present at all productions to advise and assist as needed. The TPC will plan and manage all aspects of experiential learning opportunities for the program, including in-state, out of state, or international workshops and trips. They will function as Troupe leader of the EHS International Thespian Society and advocate for increased participation and sustained excellence in the Theatre Program, including the recruiting of prospective and current EHS students.
Faculty at Episcopal High School report to their respective department chair for guidance, support, and accountability in teaching. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Support the schools Mission & Guiding Principles as well as the schools DCI Statement & Priorities through appropriate words and actions.
- Design, prepare, and implement lessons, activities, and resources that facilitate active and effective learning.
- Develop, administer, and provide feedback on various types of assessments that are timely and appropriate for achieving course objectives.
- Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for learning.
- Develop and maintain strong rapport with students and provide one-on-one assistance as needed.
- Incorporate technology effectively and regularly.
- Keep parents, advisors, and school leaders informed of student progress.
- Serve as an advisor to a small group of students and fulfill all required elements of the Advisory Program.
- Lead by example in Daily Chapel, including Family Chapel.
- Attend and engage actively in department meetings and other required school events.
- Share resources, assist, and collaborate with fellow faculty.
- Fulfill other elements of the schools Essential Expectations and Standards of Excellence in Teaching.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelors degree, with an advanced degree preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with faculty and staff, parents, and students.
- Ability to think and plan strategically and creatively.
- Ability to supervise and manage multiple functions and activities.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
- Generally work in standard office conditions and climate.
- Ability to work in a highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
- May work at a desk and computer or be standing for extended periods of time.
