Minimum Qualifications:
- Has a minimum of 2 years in related field.
- Has a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Is able to read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language.
- Possesses sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Moves equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis and up to 100 lbs on an occasional basis.
- Has the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
- Maintains a valid state driver’s license and auto insurance coverage.
- Able and willing to work independently with flexibility and integrity, as well as effectively and harmoniously with team members, residents, family members, volunteers, government agencies/personnel, and the general public in a fast-paced work environment.
- Is able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the community.
- Must be fully up-to-date with required vaccinations.
As a General Maintenance Team Member you can expect to:
- Performs routine maintenance and repairs of the community and equipment, including but not limited to painting, plumbing, electrical wiring and carpentry, observing all safety standards and policies.
- Performs troubleshooting and diagnoses problems.
- Performs preventive maintenance duties including but not limited to filter changes, lubrication of motors, etc.
- Meets and coordinates with contracted vendors on repairs or inspections.
- As needed, performs housekeeping duties in common areas, hallways, stairwells and apartments during turnovers and at other times.
- Participates fully in ERS’s Emergency and Disaster Plan, including assisting in the evacuation of residents during emergencies.
- Carries cell phone for emergency conditions as assigned and On Call shifts, and responds immediately when called.
- Performs all duties in a safe manner and wears all recommended or required Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to eye, ear and skin protections.
- Participates in after-hours on call program as assigned. Must be flexible in the event of PTO and/or staffing changes.
- Maintains the work order system, Worxhub. Fully documents all work appropriated as instructed.
