Recreation Specialist - Per Diem
Starting Pay Rate: $17.15/hourly (Pay information will vary depending upon relevant experience for the position.)
Resident Companion Services will provide companion services, non-medical assistance, and support to help the resident thrive safely, comfortably and independently in their own apartment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Personal laundry as needed.
- Serve/prepare meals.
- Encourage and/or remind residents to participate in activities.
- Encourage socialization among residents.
- Carry out pet care tasks, as needed.
- Grocery shopping.
- Errands.
- Housekeeping duties as assigned by resident.
- Companionship/social interaction.
- Communicate all pertinent information to other staff.
- Work cooperatively with other staff.
- Treat all residents with dignity and respect.
- Reminders - meals, activities, hygiene or medication.
- Complete companion care service requests, documenting all tasks and important information.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong team approach to working with other staff. Ability to interact courteously and tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, vendors and the general public. Must have a valid NYS driver’s license with clean driving record.
EDUCATION:
- Must possess high school diploma or equivalent with reading, comprehension and writing ability at 12th grade level or higher.
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience or interest in working with older adults.
