Rental Yard Associate

Job Summary :

The Rental Yard Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the efficient operation of the rental yard. This role involves assisting customers with equipment rentals, maintaining inventory, performing basic equipment maintenance, and ensuring a safe and organized yard environment. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, and possesses a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities :

Equipment Handling and Maintenance :

• Inspect rental equipment for damage and functionality before and after each rental.
• Clean and maintain rental equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as fueling, oil checks, and minor repairs.
• Record equipment maintenance and repair activities accurately.
• Organize and stage equipment for rental readiness.
• Load and unload equipment onto customer vehicles or trailers, ensuring safety.
• Demonstrate equipment operation to customers.

Yard Operations and Safety :

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe rental yard environment.
• Ensure equipment is stored properly and securely.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
• Perform regular yard checks to identify and address potential hazards.
• Assist with inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and tracking equipment.
• Assist with loading and unloading deliveries.
• Operate forklifts or other equipment as needed (with proper certification).
• Perform opening and closing procedures for the rental yard.
• Assist with basic building maintenance and upkeep.

Administrative Tasks :

• Process rental contracts and payments accurately.
• Maintain accurate records of rental transactions, equipment inventory, and maintenance activities.
• Answer phone calls and respond to email inquiries promptly.
• Assist with inventory counts and reconciliations.
• Help with general office tasks as needed.

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel.
