Job Title: Director of Marketing, Downstream - Medical Device
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid; onsite 2x per week)
Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Director of Downstream Marketing to lead the strategic direction and execution of global marketing strategies, with a primary focus on the US market. This key leadership role involves overseeing the marketing strategy, planning, and execution of major products. The candidate will collaborate closely with sales leadership and sales representatives to implement marketing and commercial programs that deliver results. This role also involves leading cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions to acquire new accounts and users and to differentiate from competitors. This position reports to the Vice President of Marketing & Market Access.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to achieve business objectives.
- Create go-to-market strategies for product launches, including market segmentation, targeting and positioning, pricing, product differentiation, omnichannel marketing, and sales enablement tools.
- Manage the product branding strategy and messaging architecture.
- Work closely with sales leaders and representatives to execute marketing initiatives that drive commercial results.
- Engage in fieldwork alongside sales representatives to understand customer needs and objections, and develop effective marketing initiatives.
- Develop marketing assets and tools to support the sales team.
- Partner with Medical Education to ensure educational content and events align with the organization's strategic goals.
- Collaborate with Marketing Communications to execute digital marketing campaigns that generate and nurture new leads.
- Maintain a close partnership with Market Development to share best practices and identify collaborative opportunities.
- Stay ahead of competitors and successfully differentiate to achieve market share leadership.
- Utilize market research, sales, and customer feedback to guide improvements in marketing plans and execution.
- Participate in strategic planning initiatives, including long-range planning to ensure profitable growth.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams on strategic product development and clinical evidence planning.
- Support local customer engagement events as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- 10 years of experience in the medical device industry with progressive responsibilities in Downstream Marketing.
- Proven track record in strategic marketing and executing complex marketing plans to deliver results.
- Ability to influence senior-level stakeholders and make recommendations based on insights and data.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Sales to execute marketing programs.
- Ability to partner with external stakeholders, including interventionalists and administrators.
- Experience working in high-functioning cross-functional teams.
- Effective people leader who can attract talent and build a strong and motivated team.

Salary : $200,000 - $250,000
