Job Summary:
We are seeking a Network Technician to support our clients enterprise-wide Access Point (AP) refresh project. The ideal candidate will have experience with Access Points (APs) and Wireless Access Points (WAPs) and be responsible for configuring and deploying APs across the enterprise. This role involves configuring APs, setting up switch ports with the correct VLANs, and ensuring proper connectivity, but does not require migration to a new wireless controller or LAN controller programming.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and deploy Access Points (APs) across the enterprise network.
- Configure switch ports to ensure proper VLAN assignment for AP connectivity.
- Perform basic programming on APs to align with enterprise configurations.
- Troubleshoot and verify AP functionality post-deployment.
- Work closely with network engineers to ensure successful AP integration.
- Follow project guidelines and documentation to ensure consistency across deployments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, networking administration, information technology, or a similar field.
- 5-7 yrs of experience in Cisco Network with APS and WAPs in a corporate or enterprise environment.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including VLANs and switch configurations.
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot wireless access points.
- Familiarity with enterprise networking tools and basic programming of APs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow deployment procedures.
- Ability to work independently without requiring physical installation (no ladder work).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Cisco, Aruba, or similar enterprise wireless solutions.
- Knowledge of network monitoring and configuration tools.
- Prior experience working on network refresh projects.
