Job Description: Banquet/Event Server
Starting at $17.00 per hour.
Summary of Position:
Provide friendly, professional and responsive service to create an exceptional experience for all of our guests and clients. Servers must have a teamwork spirit with excellent communication skills.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Familiarize yourself with every aspect of the building and facilities, including operational plans, emergency plans, ingress and egress routes and service paths.
- Familiarize yourself with your responsibilities as described on the event BEO and in the pre-shift meeting. Identify and anticipate potential weaknesses and be proactive in heading off problems before they occur.
- Welcome and greet guests. Introduce yourself. Make all our guests feel comfortable and let them know you?re there to personally take care of them.
- Inform guests of menu selections and be able to answer questions about the menus. Inquire about and confirm allergies or dietary restrictions.
- When providing butler beverage service, accept and execute beverage orders and any special request in a timely and courteous manner.
- Be prepared to make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
- Answer questions about our food, beverages and other facility functions and services.
- Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.
- Maintain clean service areas constantly and consistent with instructions coming from the Event Captain or General Manager.
- Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
- Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.
- Be ready and willing to assist with clearing and resetting tables.
- Thank guests for allowing us the privilege of serving them.
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the event as directed by the event manager or immediate supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
- Must have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
- Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 25 pounds.
