Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care & Interaction:
- Greet and prepare patients for surgery or consultations in a compassionate and gracious manner.
- Collect and document medical histories, vital signs, and other necessary information prior to procedures.
- Assist patients with pre-operative instructions and provide postoperative care instructions as needed.
- Answer patient questions and address concerns, offering support and reassurance as needed.
- Clinical Support:
- Assist surgeon and nursing staff
- Prepare surgical instruments and ensure a sterile environment.
- Monitor patient recovery, assisting with bandaging, wound care, and ensuring proper follow-up.
- Assist with and coordinate materials management as needed for case support
- Administrative & Organizational Support:
- Schedule patient appointments, surgical procedures, and follow-up visits, ensuring accuracy and optimal time management.
- Manage patient charts and ensure documentation is complete and compliant with medical standards.
- Maintain clean and organized clinical spaces, ensuring medical equipment is well-maintained.
- Team Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with surgeon, nurse, and other medical professionals to ensure seamless care.
- Demonstrate excellent teamwork, contributing to a positive and efficient work environment.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Medical Assistant program required.
- Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical setting, preferably in surgery or a clinical practice.
- Skills:
- Excellent clinical skills with a thorough understanding of medical procedures, instruments, and terminology.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Very strong proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and scheduling software.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with a focus on empathetic patient care. Bilingual abilities appreciated!
