In this role, the candidate will perform complex analysis with direction and supervision, work directly with EPRI staff, and engage in supervised interaction with members and industry.
Key Responsibilities And Requirements
We are looking for a sustainability student with:
As an EPRI Student, you will not participate in EPRI’s Benefit Programs which includes health insurance, retirement benefits, vacation, sick leave (except as set required by law) and holiday pay. However, as a Student employee you are eligible for the benefits of Social Security, State Disability Insurance, and Workers’ Compensation Insurance.
For Student positions which require one to relocate to an EPRI office. Relocation assistance is not provided, and the student will be responsible for covering all relocation costs/expenses.
EPRI participates in E-Verify, an online system operated jointly by the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration (SSA). EPRI uses the system to check the work status of new hires by comparing information from the employee's I-9 form against SSA and Department of Homeland Security databases.

- Utility companies by advancing sustainability maturity and strategy through research-informed sustainability decision-making tools and resources focused on the needs of energy companies
- Industry through enabling continuous improvement through collaboration with energy utility sustainability professionals for robust sharing of best practices, lessons learned, and peer benchmarking
- Stakeholders through developing metrics and methods for communicating value created through sustainability initiatives and strategies.
In this role, the candidate will perform complex analysis with direction and supervision, work directly with EPRI staff, and engage in supervised interaction with members and industry.
Key Responsibilities And Requirements
- Conducts technical research and data analysis in support of the project team.
- With support from technical leads, assists in writing or reviewing technical research publications or presentations.
- Support analysis for application of identified electric utility industry sustainability priorities.
- Assists technical research leads in assessing customer needs, formulating technical approaches, preparing proposals, technical publications/papers, and making presentations with minimal supervision.
- Able to present at meetings on technical work
- Able to represent EPRI in stakeholder interviews
- Current college or post-graduate student with a focus in a sustainability discipline.
We are looking for a sustainability student with:
- Strong research skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong interpersonal skills, motivated self-starter, detail oriented, good communicator, able to follow defined testing methods, safety minded, able to work with moderate supervision after tasks are assigned
- Trainability, strong work ethic, creativity, passion, and adaptability are keys to success.
- Undergraduate: $16-29 per hour
- Masters: $25-31 per hour
- Ph.D: $27-34 per hour
