What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Specialist (Mentors) position at Eprine Community Services?

Join our team as a Behavioral Health Specialist (B.H.S.) and mentor and play a pivotal role in helping children aged 5–21 diagnosed with serious emotional disturbances achieve their fullest potential.
As an integral part of our multidisciplinary team, you’ll work closely with caregivers and apply your expertise in public health practices and child behavior to support meaningful change.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1-on-1 face-to-face support to children, working on individualized goals such as social skills, coping techniques, impulse control, relationship building, and self-esteem.
- Lead community-based recreational activities designed to engage and inspire participants.
- Document services using the Electronic Health Record (E.H.R.) system.
- Deliver tailored 1-on-1 interventions and group support that empower children and families to thrive in school and community settings.
- Integrate a psycho-educational approach into advocacy and crisis prevention for participants and their families, equipping them with vital resources and strategies.
- Attend mandatory training to stay up-to-date and prepared to provide exceptional care.
Requirements
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and/or after-school hours (Weekends required).
- Ability to commute to or relocate to Brooklyn, NY 11233 before starting work.
