What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Specialist position at Eprine Community Services?
Agency seeks motivated Behavioral Health Specialist who will work with children between the ages of 5-21 and are diagnosed with serious emotional disturbances. The Behavioral Health Specialist (B.H.S.) is an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team and works closely with caregivers to assist them in the management of child behavior within a group setting and applies a working knowledge of public health practices and concepts of child behavior.
The staff will:
- Work 1 to 1 with the child by providing face-to-face services.
- Work on individualized goals with the child which include but are not limited to (social skills, coping techniques, impulse control, relationship building, self-esteem and more)
- Engage the child in recreational activities in the community
- Submit Documentation via Electronic Health Record System (E.H.R)
- Oversee the delivery of one-to-one services designed to strengthen participants' and families' abilities to function successfully in the school, and community settings, focusing on behaviors and intervention methods expected to support the participant. Services may be provided to individuals and in small group settings.
- Assure staff develop a robust psycho-educational component to their advocacy and crisis prevention work with participants, families/caregivers, and collateral, and have access to valuable resource materials.
- Must be able to attend mandated training
- Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and/or after school hours.
