Core Responsibilities
- Assist senior level designers in designing, planning and execution of segments of complex projects and supports related research.
- Assist senior level designers in developing initial complex design concepts and schematic drawings on projects.
- Utilize design software and hand-drawing techniques to create complex landscape plans, elevations, and perspectives.
- Assist in preparing tasks and scheduling under supervision.
- Responsible for documenting site features through photographs and sketches.
- Research and compile information for complex projects.
- Conduct on-site assessments to gather data on existing site conditions, including topography, drainage patterns, and existing vegetation.
- Work with senior designers to analyze site opportunities and constraints to generate design solutions on complex projects.
- Responsible for preparing presentation materials for internal and external meetings and presentations.
- Responsible for preparation of project documentation, including design drawings and specifications.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accuracy and completeness of construction drawings.
- Effectively apply standard techniques and procedures under light supervision from experienced staff on non-routine, complex projects, and assignments.
- May serve as mentor to others in design development and in preparing the technical portion of project specifications.
- Apply abstract concepts to complex tasks.
- Establish design standards and conduct essential engineering calculations for designing either components or entire systems with supervision.
- Meet work product standards appropriate for next level review.
- Effectively apply EPS Group techniques and procedures.
- Adapt technical plans and escalate deviations as appropriate.
- Effectively speak to work product during team interactions.
- Efficiently and accurately perform secondary research for specific tasks.
- Proactively communicate workload.
- Capture and identify key concepts when summarizing information.
- Follow EPS Group standards and guidelines for deliverables.
- Propose helpful solutions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Achieve a 85-90% Billable Utilization Rate. Non-billable activities include company & team meetings, professional development, community involvement, innovation time, culture & engagement activities, learning, and training.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in landscape architecture design.
- Have a growth mindset.
- Demonstrate a desire to learn and grow in industry knowledge.
- Demonstrate an open mind to change and others’ ideas.
- Highly proficient in developing and delivering 3D / BIM models and 2D contract drawings and documents.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Professional experience in software programs used by the team. Including but not limited to AutoCAD, Adobe Suite software and has experience using 3D modeling programs.
- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
Physical Requirements
- Required to stand, walk, and sit.
- The position may require a visit to project sites occasionally.
- The position requires a normal range of hearing.
- The employee must be able to lift 40 lbs. occasionally.
- Requires prolonged sitting with 15% of the time spent bending and reaching.
- Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
- Noise levels are consistent with a standard office environment.
