Position : Engineer in Training 1
Reports To : Project Manager
Status : Full-time, Exempt

Core Responsibilities
Participate in team status meetings.
Assist with basic reports with guidance using templates.
Perform fundamental engineering calculations with guidance.
Assist with preparing simple reports with guidance using office templates.
Modify base files with oversight.
Perform basic project research to support design.
Address basic nontechnical redlines.
Assist with preparing simple exhibits.
Provide engineering support to the rest of the project team.
Assist with the preparation of engineering drawings.
Communicate proactively on projects.
Responsible for completing timecards accurately and on time.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Achieve an 85-90% Billable Utilization Rate. Non-billable activities include company & team meetings, professional development, community involvement, innovation time, culture & engagement activities, learning, and training.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field.
Demonstrate a basic understanding of and ability to locate local, state, and federal codes and ordinances.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Functional knowledge of Civil 3D, Microstation and Bluebeam.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
Required Licensure
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification (Passed Fundamental Engineering (FE) Exam).
Physical Requirements
Required to stand, walk, and sit.
The position may require a visit to project sites occasionally.
The position requires a normal range of hearing.
The employee must be able to lift 40 lbs. occasionally.
Requires prolonged sitting with 15% of the time spent bending and reaching.
Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
Noise levels are consistent with a standard office environment.
