What are the responsibilities and job description for the Installation Manager position at EPS Security?
We are looking for an Installation Manager to oversee Grand Rapids Installation department. This person will be responsible for assuring compliance with UL and FM standards, maintain employee work standard compliance, safety certifications, manufacture certifications, technician state licenses and hold team accountable to company policies, procedures, and department goals.
Summary of responsibilities:
- Manage staffing, training, and performance of the department. This includes Grand Rapids Installation Supervisors and Installation Technicians.
- Manage work of department employees by reviewing metrics and reports. Take necessary steps to correct performance problems.
- Maintain and review department KPI’s and goals. Focus on job performing within budgeted hours. Review variance numbers and take necessary steps to improve performance within managed group.
- Work professionally with Sales and Sales Estimators leadership on proposed solutions, upcoming project needs and conflict resolution for current open projects.
- Review completed installs to assure they work properly and were installed according to manufacturer and EPS installation and service standards. Make site visits as necessary.
- Work with schedulers, Project Managers, and Sales on a daily basis to assist in scheduling new and existing installation jobs, including obtaining sub-contractors based on backlog.
- Review job layout, directly or indirectly, through project managers, supervisors, and technicians before they begin job. This may include attending job start meetings with sales.
- Coordinate with the Grand Rapids Service Manager for takeover installations and provide service backup support as needed.
- Provide response to customer complaints and inquiries. May require visit to job site. Analyze and determine solution to customer problems.
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in UL and FM service with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an industry supervisor position.
- FAST-S licensed.
- Organizational skills required to prioritize work and department goals to meet deadlines.
- Analytical abilities required to assist technicians in troubleshooting and repairing complex electronic problems on customer systems. Requires thorough knowledge of electronics and alarm equipment.
- Experienced in selecting qualified candidates for open positions.
- Professional and concise communication skills both verbal and written.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to develop and implement successful management strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems with tact and diplomacy with strong decision-making capability.
- Forward-looking, analytical thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
