Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our team in a fast-paced distribution center. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of heavy equipment, including forklifts, clamp trucks, and cranes. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient materials handling and inventory management within our warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment to move, locate, and stack materials within the warehouse.
- Utilize RF scanners to track inventory and ensure accurate order fulfillment.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to coordinate the efficient flow of goods in and out of the facility.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist in loading and unloading shipments, ensuring proper handling of materials.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a distribution center or warehouse setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Experience operating clamp trucks, cranes, order pickers, and other heavy equipment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking inventory.
- Ability to perform materials handling tasks efficiently and safely.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while adhering to safety standards.
