Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. has a job opportunity for a full-time Electrical Ventilation Engineering Technician III in Norfolk, VA.
Summary: The Electrical Ventilation Engineering Technician will support U.S. Navy Aircraft Carriers stationed at Naval Station Norfolk.
Duties and Responsibilities:.
Offer subject matter expertise to shipboard personnel, assisting the CEMAT electrical project team with engineering and technical support.
Deliver over-the-shoulder and on-the-job (OJT) training to ship’s force Sailors as needed
Provide guidance on materials, maintenance, and training to ships' crews for shipboard equipment and systems on CVN aircraft carriers.
Electrical troubleshooting, use of multimeter and megohmmeter on electrical systems.
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
Provide maintenance and repairs of shipboard ventilation electrical equipment on U.S. Navy aircraft carriers, including shipboard ventilation motors and motor controllers.
Required Qualifications:
Four (4) years’ experience in the operation, repair, and maintenance of naval or marine propulsion hull, mechanical, electrical or electronic systems
High school diploma or equivalent.
Documented electrical technical knowledge and expertise in Navy Shipboard electrical systems and equipment
U.S. Navy surface ships or aircraft carriers experience required.
Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, diagrams, or other mechanical technical data pertaining to the construction and operation of naval hull, mechanical, and electrical equipment.
Able to work aboard ships in a shipyard environment under industrial conditions.
Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include hard hats, hearing protection and safety glasses
Two (2) years’ experience in a position of team leader or supervisor of subordinate work groups is desired
An associate degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university may be substituted for up to two (2) years of technician experience
All personnel assigned must have the below qualifications and they must be current or be able to obtain:
OSHA 7615 Shipyard Employment 10-hour training course within 30 days
Obtain and maintain a secret clearance
Respirator qualified to include a physical and fit test
ADA Notations:
Frequent standing, sitting, walking, handling, feeling with hands, reaching with arms
Will be required to work aboard ships in a shipyard environment under industrial conditions.
Candidate will be working as part of a small team. When not working in their primary specialty they will be required to assist other trades specialties in the performance of their
Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include hard hats, hearing protection and safety glasses
Regular Communication (hearing and speaking)
Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching
Ability to go aboard ships, barges and other naval craft
Ability to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways onboard ships
Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs in weight
